JUNGLE
“The jungle hasn’t disappeared, it’s just moved into the flowerpots.” — Andros Dresamore i

Critical text
by André de Sá Moreira
An ordinary pot. Tired plants. Then a head emerges, too quickly, like a secret we shouldn't have seen.
The face opens, closes. The eyes look at nothing. The body isn't there, only this grimace, a memory from before the story.
The scream arrives late. It tears through the street like a noise that has taken the wrong path. Passersby continue walking, cars pass, the leaves stir a little. Nothing changes, except that a monkey has passed by.
The city has its hidden animals. This time, it came out from behind a pot. It was scared. The cry was brief, but it lingered in the air like vapor. The street furniture trembled for a moment. Then everything returned to normal, until the next apparition.
Testimony
"I saw a head suddenly appear and I was scared. Then it disappeared. Since then, it's always there, even when I close my eyes."
— Mathilde Michaut
