THE GRADUATE

“When I take the subway, there’s never anyone sitting next to me.” — Andros Dresamore i

Critical text

by André de Sá Moreira

Andros Dresamore i occupies the last seat of an empty, moving bus, staring stubbornly to the side, as if waiting for another ending to occur. The scene explicitly cites The Graduate, but in a context where nothing matters: no wedding, no escape, just an ordinary bus. Simon & Garfunkel's music emerges without explanation, transforming this neutral moment into a silent drama. This is no longer a tribute, but a contamination: a bus becomes a film, an artist becomes a useless extra, and the escape no longer has a destination.

This is not a nostalgic performance. It's a time warp: a 1967 film stuck to a 2025 bus. Dresamore i manages to transform everyday life into the end credits.
